Concrete Repair & Leveling
Concrete Repair & Leveling built by Greg
Concrete rarely fails all at once. It starts with a crack that widens a little each winter, a driveway panel that drops below its neighbor, a garage floor that pits and flakes, or a patio that slowly tilts toward the house. Left alone, water gets into every opening, washes out the base and freezes in the cracks, and a small repair turns into a full replacement. The good news is that a lot of damaged concrete can be saved if it's dealt with while the slab is still mostly sound.
Greg Myers Construction repairs, levels and resurfaces concrete for homeowners in Rainier, Tenino, Rochester, Olympia and across Thurston and Lewis counties. With 33 years of experience and a business built on slab foundations, Greg knows what makes concrete fail and what a repair can and can't fix. He seals and fills cracks, lifts and levels sunken sections, grinds down trip edges, resurfaces worn or scaled slabs, and cuts out and repours pieces that are beyond saving. When replacing the whole thing is the better use of your money he'll say so, and customers mention that he follows through on what he promises.

Questions
Concrete Repair & Leveling FAQs
What makes concrete crack and flake around here?
Water, mostly. Months of rain soak the ground under slabs, which settle as the base softens or washes out, and water in surface pores and cracks expands when it freezes on cold nights, flaking off the top layer. De-icing salt makes the flaking worse. Fixing drainage and sealing the surface slows all of it.
Does repairing concrete cost less than replacing it?
Usually, when the slab is mostly sound and the trouble is limited to cracks, surface wear or a few sunken sections. If the base has failed under the whole slab, repairs won't hold and replacement is the better value. The size of the area, the type of repair and access set the price, and Greg's estimate is free.
Can sunken concrete be raised instead of replaced?
Often, yes. A section that has dropped but isn't badly broken can be lifted back to level by filling the empty space underneath. If it's cracked into pieces or the whole base has failed, cutting it out and repouring is the better fix.
Will a repaired crack still show?
Usually a little. Filled cracks and patches rarely match old concrete exactly in color or texture. The goal is to keep water out and the surface safe, and if looks matter most, resurfacing the whole area gives an even finish.
Do you repair foundation cracks too?
Yes, but that's a different job from flatwork because the concern is structure and water getting into the house. Greg handles those as foundation repair, starting with whether the crack is still moving.
