Custom Homes
Custom Homes built by Greg
A custom home starts as a picture in your head: the view from the great room, a porch you can sit on in the rain, a kitchen where everybody ends up. Getting from that picture to a finished house takes a builder who listens, prices it honestly and still answers your calls when the trim goes on. It also takes someone who knows how to build for this climate and these soils, and how to get a home permitted on rural and suburban lots across Western Washington.
Greg Myers has 33 years of experience, and his custom work shows the range. One lodge-style home has a wraparound covered porch, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, a vaulted great room with exposed beams, and a loft with iron balusters above log stair treads. It also has a live-edge wood vanity with vessel sinks, slate tile, a sliding barn door and a kitchen island under pendant lights. He has built craftsman homes with stone columns and cedar-shingle gables too. You work with Greg directly, with no middlemen, from design to the last walkthrough.

Questions
Custom Homes FAQs
How do you build a custom home for Western Washington's rain?
We focus on keeping water out and letting moisture escape. That means good site drainage and a dry foundation, a well-detailed roof with generous overhangs, a weather barrier and flashing behind the siding, and ventilation that keeps the attic and crawlspace dry. Covered porches and entries earn their keep here too, protecting the doors and giving you a dry place to take off boots.
What does a custom home cost to build?
Square footage, the complexity of the design, your finishes and the lot itself drive the price. A steep or wooded lot, a long driveway or soil that needs extra foundation work all add cost, while a simpler footprint saves money. Greg gives a free estimate and can show you where choices like timber accents or stonework change the number.
Can you build from plans I already have?
Yes. If you have plans from a designer or a plan you bought, Greg reviews them against your site and local permit requirements and suggests changes where they would save money or build better. If you are starting from scratch, he will help you develop the design.
What's the difference between a custom home and new home construction?
A custom home is designed around you, from the layout and style to every finish. New home construction covers proven plans like ramblers and two-stories built on your land. Greg builds both start to finish; the difference is how much of the design is one of a kind.
How involved will Greg be in my build?
Very. Greg's promise is that you work with him directly, with no middlemen. He prices your job, answers your questions and checks the work as it goes, and customers mention his integrity and that he follows through on what he promises.
