New Home Construction (Build on Your Land) in Centralia

Looking for a new home builder in Centralia? Greg Myers Construction is based in Rainier, about 18 miles away, and Centralia is part of Greg's regular service area. He handles new homes on your land, ramblers and two-story homes.

In the river valleys and farm country, a good building site is one that stays dry — set above the low ground, with the water steered away from the foundation before anything goes up. What you need is one builder who handles all of it and tells you the truth about cost and timing.

One customer called Greg “a man of integrity.” Another wrote that he “does excellent work.”

Lewis County, WA

New Home Construction (Build on Your Land) around Centralia

Greg works all over Centralia — near Centralia Downtown Historic District, Riverside Park and Brick Wagner Park and out by Ham Hill and Plummer Lake — and throughout Lewis County.

Centralia is the largest city in Lewis County, halfway between Seattle and Portland on I-5 where the Skookumchuck meets the Chehalis River. Centralia is about 18 miles southwest of our base in Rainier, well inside our 100-mile service area.

Western Washington buildings fight water more than anything — months of rain, moss on the roof, rot wherever wood stays wet, and soils that hold moisture. A building lasts when it sits on a proper foundation with drainage around it, is wrapped and flashed right, and is built to dry out.

Questions

New Home Construction (Build on Your Land) in Centralia: FAQs

Do you do new home construction (build on your land) in Centralia, WA?

Yes. Centralia is about 18 miles southwest of our base in Rainier, well inside our 100-mile service area. Greg handles new homes on your land, ramblers and two-story homes there, and the estimate is free.

Do I need a permit for new home construction (build on your land) in Centralia?

It depends on the project. When one is needed, Greg pulls the permit from the City of Centralia's building department and builds to whatever the permit and inspection require.

Does building on rural land in Western Washington take extra site work?

Often it does. Many lots here have glacial till or clay that drains poorly, a high water table in winter, or wetlands and slopes the county wants protected. We look at all of that up front, plan the drainage and foundation to suit, and schedule earthwork for drier stretches when we can. Getting the site right is what keeps a crawlspace dry year after year.

How much does it cost to build a new home on my land?

The size of the house, the plan and the finishes set most of the price, and the lot sets the rest. Clearing, a long driveway, grading and foundation work for poor soil can add a lot on rural land, while a ready lot in a neighborhood adds very little. Greg's free estimate comes after he has walked the lot, so the number covers the site work as well as the house.

Do I need to own the land before we talk?

No. Greg can look at a lot you are considering and point out what would affect building on it, like access, slope, soil or drainage. That visit can keep you from buying a lot that is expensive to build on.

Can I choose my own floor plan?

Yes. You can bring a plan, pick from proven rambler and two-story layouts, or adjust one to fit your lot and the way your family lives. If you want something fully one of a kind, Greg builds custom homes too.
